Both Switch And PS4 Versions Of Taiko No Tatsujin Are Fun In Different Ways Both Switch And PS4 Versions Of Taiko No Tatsujin Are Fun In Different Ways

It’s a good year for drum-based rhythm games. Hot on the heels of the wonderfully quirky Gal Metal for the Switch, Bandai Namco’s released two new Taiko no Tatsujin drum games, one for Nintendo’s console and one for PlayStation 4. Which one to get depends on which sort of rhythm gamer you are.

The Weirdest Soulcalibur VI Character Creations The Weirdest Soulcalibur VI Character Creations

SoulCalibur IV includes the most robust custom character creation tool in series history. The game’s only been out for four days, and already the internet is flooded with twisted player creations, and not all of them have giant fake cocks.

Soulcalibur VI’s Story Mode Does Geralt Dirty Soulcalibur VI’s Story Mode Does Geralt Dirty

Bandai Namco’s fighting game does an excellent job of portraying the personality and likeness of The Witcher 3 protagonist, but fails to make good on the full crossover potential CD Projekt Red blessed it with. Soulcalibur VI’s Geralt moves like a witcher and talks like a witcher but spends most of the game’s story…

Soulcalibur VI Is A Fresh Reboot Of Its Eternally Retold Tale Soulcalibur VI Is A Fresh Reboot Of Its Eternally Retold Tale

The Soulcalibur franchise needed either a hard reboot or an adrenaline shot, and Soulcalibur VI is both. The latest entry in the fighting game series, available October 19, circles back for a do-over of the first few Soulcalibur games, retelling the major characters’ stories all over again and even putting everyone…

Katamari Damacy's Creator Had To Move Mountains To Get His Game Made Katamari Damacy's Creator Had To Move Mountains To Get His Game Made

Today, Katamari Damacy is one of Bandai Namco’s most beloved series, but when its creator Keita Takahashi was trying to bring his quirky idea to life in the early 2000s, he encountered numerous pitfalls along the way, mostly in the form of bureaucratic red tape. But he persevered and won, as author L. E. Hall…

For Some Reason, Soulcalibur VI's Tira Is In The Beta, But Still Sold Separately As DLC For Some Reason, Soulcalibur VI's Tira Is In The Beta, But Still Sold Separately As DLC

Last month, Soulcalibur fans were disappointed to learn that longtime series regular Tira was not on the main roster for Soulcalibur VI, instead relegated to day one paid downloadable content. She did, however, make it onto the roster for this weekend’s free network test. Great.

Dragon Ball FighterZ: The Kotaku Review Dragon Ball FighterZ: The Kotaku Review

Dragon Ball games are for Dragon Ball fans. Fighting games are for fighting game fans. Dragon Ball FighterZ is both of those things, and it’s for everybody.

Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition arrives on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch on January 11, 2019. If you played the North American Xbox 360 version without all the cool Japanese Ps3 exclusive stuff that’s being included in the Definitive Edition, you pretty much failed as a Tales fan. Sorry.

It’s official. Dragonball FighterZ newest DLC characters are base form Goku and Vegeta. They’re calling this Goku “Goku (Black Hair)” but there’s already a Goku Black and.. oh boy, how many Gokus do we have now?

Dragon Ball FighterZ gets its next update on May 9. It adds new modes, including Party Battle where three players team up to fight over-powered bosses, and fixes a number of bugs. It also tinkers with some characters like Goku Black, but doesn’t do much over all in the balance department.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is coming to consoles via publisher Bandai Namco. You’ll be able to play one of the best role-playing games ever made on PS4 and Xbox One this August. No word on a Switch version, sadly.

Geralt Is Coming To Soulcalibur VI Geralt Is Coming To Soulcalibur VI

After plenty of speculation and guessing, a new trailer shows The Witcher’s Geralt of Rivia will be in Soulcalibur VI after all.

Ni no Kuni II Lets You Build Your Own Kingdom, And It's Lovely Ni no Kuni II Lets You Build Your Own Kingdom, And It's Lovely

If you have spent the past decade wishing there was more Suikoden in your life, then oh boy do I have some news for you: Ni no Kuni II is as close as we’ve gotten since 2006, thanks to an elegant kingdom-building system that’s a lot of fun to use.

Tekken Feels Weird As A Free-To-Play Mobile Game Tekken Feels Weird As A Free-To-Play Mobile Game

Calling this game Tekken Mobile instead of Tekken Tap Tournament is a missed opportunity, but that’s besides the point. Tapping on a touchscreen and using cards for special moves is weird.

Fixes for Dragon Ball FighterZ’ connectivity issues are coming. In a video released today, producer Tomoko Hiroki laid out plans for one patch late this month that “might not fix everything,” and another in mid to late March. The plan is to “gradually resolve the issue.” That is certainly a plan.

Goku’s “Perfected” Ultra Instinct form is coming to Xenoverse 2 with the game’s Extra Pack 2 DLC due out this winter according to the latest issue of V-Jump. If you’re wondering what the hell Perfected Ultra Instinct form is, it basically just means Goku’s hair turns grey. What will they think of next?

Two weeks after release Dragon Ball FighterZ’ online still isn’t working reliably. Players complain of disconnects, matchmaking issues and problems connecting with friends. Bandai Namco says the devs are focused on improving online play. Thank goodness. I’d hate to think they’d given up and wandered off.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Does Some Weird Stuff Behind The Camera Dragon Ball FighterZ Does Some Weird Stuff Behind The Camera

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a polished fighting game with tight controls and a combat system that’s fast-paced but still approachable. It also looks amazing, which is why people have been sharing all of its scripted animations for weeks leading up to the release. It turns out there’s some really weird stuff happening…

Dragon Ball FighterZ' Lobby System Is A Huge Hassle Dragon Ball FighterZ' Lobby System Is A Huge Hassle

Dragon Ball FighterZ’s multiplayer battles are spectacles filled with blazing-fast combat backed by outstanding netcode. If only getting into one of those battles didn’t involve fumbling about with the game’s clunky multiplayer lobby system.

Dragon Ball FighterZ On Lowest Settings Is Like Going Back In Time

Here’s a fun thing to do while you’re waiting for a spot in one of Dragon Ball FighterZ PC’s crowded online hubs—turn the graphics down way low and pretend you’re playing a Game Boy Advance game.
